Welcome to the official website of The Jute Diversification Promotion Centre (JDPC)
Jute Diversification Promotion Centre (JDPC) started functioning since 2002. Phase three is the successor of the earlier phase one & two which were successfully completed in December 2007 & December 2012. Keeping in view the impeding and propelling factors which were experienced by Jute Diversification Promotion Centre - phase one & two, the third phase has been designed and planned in a manner to cater the actual needs of the hour by the Jute Diversified sub- sector for its uninterrupted forward journey to achieve the objectives and goal within the stipulated five years time. The first phase of JDPC started in March 2002 when the traditional products almost lost its market to the artificial and synthetic low cost materials for packaging and introduction of bulk handling in place of bagging/packing in jute bags. The jute mills both in private and public sector were losing persistently and following the situation the mills eventually being closed or partially closed. The age of "Golden Fibre" faced a catastrophe and gradually facing critical crisis of jute businesses so far except spinning mills.
